Introduction to estates
Last updated
This chapter provides basic information about the procedures involved in the administering of a deceased person’s estate.
The information in this chapter is not intended to be used as a do-it-yourself kit, as in the majority of cases (except where small estates are involved), it is necessary that legal advice be obtained.
This does not mean that a person who finds themself appointed as an executor or administrator should not be aware of the obligations, procedures, expenses and possible difficulties involved.
