As we head towards the end of the year, I am prompted to reflect on the incredible impact our team has had, working for and with the communities we serve.

At Fitzroy Legal Service, we are relentless in fighting injustice, and 2025 was no exception. Together, we continued to build on our long history of delivering community-embedded, holistic legal services and fearless advocacy, with and for those who need it most.

In 2024-25, we assisted 4,136 clients with 7,000 services. Behind those numbers, are 4,136 people whose stories changed. 4,136 people who stayed housed, can now spend the holidays with their children, have legal protection from family violence, or are now Australian citizens.

Our impact this year reflects the rigour, passion, and dedication of our staff and volunteers, who show up every day because they believe fairness, equity and justice should be available to everyone, regardless of their background, postcode, or bank balance.

I also extend my gratitude to our supporters, community partners, members, and funders, whose faith in our vision enables us to deliver life-changing impact to communities most locked-out of the legal system.

2026 is already shaping to be an eventful year, as we gear up to share our new organisational strategy. It’s a reflection of our commitment to fighting injustice, and centring the needs of our clients and communities in everything we do.
