The information in this chapter is about domestic insurance, which includes:
- motor vehicle insurance;
- home building and home contents;
- sickness and accident;
- Under the Australian Consumer Law, a person who buys goods or services for less than $40 000 or for personal or home use. A debt that does not have to be paid until some future time. Being allowed to pay later, in the future, for something you are getting now.;
- travel and personal insurance; and
- domestic property insurance.
The chapter does not deal with contracts of reinsurance, health insurance or life insurance, marine insurance, workers compensation or compulsory third-party (personal injury) motor vehicle insurance.
